It took a decade and seven phases of capital improvements costing around $700 million to transform the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital into the seismically compliant, modern architectural structure it is. These dramatic improvements set the standard after which future Cottage Health System properties will be modeled.
SKA was responsible for updating the signage-related needs for the campus. This work encompassed comprehensive signage for the site, parking areas, new hospital, existing hospital, and central plant. A temporary wayfinding program was implemented during construction to assist staff, patients and visitors in navigating the changes. SKA also created a complementary donor recognition system consisting of major donor walls, and other area recognition elements.
