Under the Facilities Master Plan that consists of three phases, SKA has held direct contracts for the following pieces:
West Tower
Completion: 2008
This new 6-story, 237,734 SF tower provides 128 private patient rooms, a pharmacy, a cafeteria, and expanded clinical laboratory with a direct connect to the adjacent East Tower via a pedestrian tunnel. SKA prepared a comprehensive interior signage program that covered wayfinding, directional, department and room identification, operational, and code-required signage. The design solution emulates the architectural motif while affording changeability and easy in-house fabrication and maintenance.
Site Signage Updates
Completion: Ongoing
The wave of new construction created the need for the site signage program to be updated. SKA assessed existing signs to identify gaps and outdated wayfinding information. SKA then prepared a complete package for project identification, site directional, vehicular instructional, and exterior building signs that supports campus graphic standards as well as California Department of Transportation requirements. This project is currently in production.
Emergency Department Remodel
Completion: 2014
SKA provided bold vehicular directional signage – both temporary and permanent – to effectively move vehicles through primary corridors leading to the newly-remodeled Emergency department.
Huntington Outpatient Services Pavilion
Completion: 2013
The four-story, 190,000 sq. ft. building sits on the corner of a busy intersection along the campus periphery, and is leased to various tenants including UCLA and USC. Inside are a cancer treatment center, ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms, clinical laboratories, roughly 50 medical office suites, a pharmacy and a restaurant. SKA was retained to develop operational, code-required, department and room identification signing for interior tenant areas. Additionally, several tenants have contracted SKA to implement signs specific to their build-out.
