Kaiser Permanente (KP) increased its healthcare facilities in the Lancaster region to five with this 136,580 sf specialty medical offices building. The facility supports 20 specialties with 94 exam rooms, laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, infusion center, general surgery, physical and occupational therapy. The site includes approximately 1.5 miles of looped trails connecting an amphitheater, play zone, café and staff conference patio.
SKA developed the interior sign program and the exterior wayfinding program. For the interior program, SKA adapted the KP sign program by incorporating unique graphics that draw from the exterior environment, such as images of poppies, butterflies and wild grasses. These graphics, together with color, serve to differentiate the floors.
For the exterior program, SKA placed large three-dimensional “welcome” letters into the landscape to welcome the visitor on the approach into the campus. Also, SKA incorporated graphics into the exterior identification sign and developed unique signage for the exterior “thrive” path.
