This revolutionary six-story, 110,000 square foot building is a first-of-a-kind interdisciplinary building that provides space for a multitude of graduate and undergraduate programs. Funded by a generous $30 million gift, the Italian Romanesque edifice houses classrooms, conference areas, research and computing laboratories, faculty offices and a café. It is punctuated by a five-story atrium as the focal point.
SKA accented the building interior with stimulating wall treatments in a crimson-toned soundwave pattern. This graphic works in tandem with wayfinding, directional and code sign elements. Donor recognition elements were also assimilated into the program. The program is crowned by a large-scale, three-dimensional “Ascending Thoughts” sculpture, which is suspended in the main atrium to hail visitors.
