The Village serves as LAGLC’s educational, cultural, and social center, and home to the Community Outreach & Education Departments. The 33,000 sq. ft. complex surrounds a central garden courtyard and houses a 200-seat auditorium for film screenings and presentations, a CyberCenter, café, career center, art gallery, a black box theater, community meeting rooms and more.
SKA was approached to develop a complete donor recognition system under the condition of an expedited 90-day schedule, inclusive of fabrication and installation. SKA teamed with a sign fabricator from the onset to meet the stringent timeline. The system reflects the industrial design of the facility by utilizing unusual materials such as galvanized metals, patterned steel, sandblasted aluminum, stainless steel with silk-screened and etched copy, and exterior-grade vinyl. SKA’s thoughtful planning capitalized on linkages to other architectural features to create a well-integrated program.
