Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor is home to the acclaimed Aquarium of the Pacific, public docks, an 87-slip marina, and Shoreline Village, which features a collection of restaurants, retailers and arcades. The City constructed a five-level, 1500 space garage to service the parking needs of area patrons and visitors. SKA worked with the parking architect to implement a comprehensive signage program with an intelligent counting system. Vehicular and pedestrian directional needs were addressed, as well as regulatory, safety and informational signage requirements. The design incorporates aquatic curves befitting of a marine environment along with sea life imagery that help patrons distinguish levels for orientation.
