The San Diego Trolley is a light rail system that services the San Diego metropolitan area. It is comprised of three primary service lines: the Blue, Orange and Green Lines. The Green Line, also known as the Mission Valley West line, contains 19 stations that service the busy hubs at San Diego State University, the University of San Diego and Qualcomm Stadium.
SKA developed an identification signage program for the line. Building on a basic existing design, SKA prepared a system of freestanding and pole-mounted signs composed of black and white panels with colored line identification symbols. This solution was captured into a Design Guidelines Manual, and provides the standard that all subsequent signing projects must follow. Several contract renewals have lead to a 20-year relationship between SKA and the MTDB.
