Role: Sub-consultant to AHBE landscape architects
Size: 0.39 acres
Completed: 2011
Located within a blighted residential neighborhood of Carson, this lot sat vacant for years and had become an eye sore in the community due to rampant illegal dumping. The City adopted a remediation plan with the goal of transforming the property into a usable, passive green space for the area’s residents. Referencing Carson’s history, topography, and native ecology, the park is now a community hub where children can safely play. SKA supported the landscape architect with this effort by preparing identification, informational and safety signs that are located along walkways, gathering spaces and entry points.
