The Helford Clinical Research Hospital provides an advanced patient care environment. Design features create close connection between caregivers and patients, and the sign program plays an integral role in providing strategic visual cues that promote fluid pedestrian circulation.
SKA developed a comprehensive building interior and exterior sign program that also encompassed donor recognition signage. The precursory task of the scope was production of a logical room numbering system to aid staff and visitor navigation. With this foundation in place, SKA then developed identification, directional, restrictive and code-required signs that feature subtle floral graphics inspired by onsite tranquility gardens to artfully reinforce navigation. Signs correlate with the interior palette and architectural details.
